Nursery and Early Learners had a great day doing the SPOOKY TODDLE 2023. We crept in corridors, scared the staff, haunted the head and even popped up in PE. Thank you to everyone for supporting the day! ...but especially our wonderful children and families!

Year 4 are learning all about fire safety today and how we can prevent fires and be safe around electrical items with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue!

Such a transformation, the before photo is a much improved version of the before before! The corridor between our schools is the perfect space to display a timeline, including events important to our New Silksworth Academy community. #WeAreProud

Tonight we welcomed Joe and Sally as our Meccano Mentors to support our children to make models for the Great Engineers School Challenge. Their models will be transported to Shildon in October for judging

Reception have been painting their faces. We looked in a mirror to find out the colour of our hair and eyes and used the correct colour. We look great proudly displayed in our classroom

Nursery have been awarded the Level 3 RHS School Gardening Award! How? #WeAre... building on our practical skills,  growing a range of plants,  encouraging wildlife by providing homes and habitats and re-using as much as we can.

Donations can be dropped off and we will have all our available uniform out for you to browse, any donations made will go towards other Eco-projects in school.

Please make use of this, I know there is sometimes a stigma attached to pre-worn uniform but I can tell you from experience the children don’t notice and all look the same regardless.
