#WeAre New Silksworth Academy Arts Award Centre

Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for young people aged between 5 and 25, and embraces all interests and backgrounds.  Arts Award’s unique qualifications support children and young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. The programme develops skills for success in 21st century life including creativity, leadership, relfective thinking and communication skills. Young people also develop knowledge and understanding of their chosen art forms. Arts Award can be based around any arts or media activity, and can be completed in a wide variety of settings - like youth clubs, arts centres, schools, colleges, theatres or community groups. 

Mrs Merrie (Art and Design Lead) is a trained Arts Award adviser at Discover and Explore levels, and New Silksworth Academy is a registered Arts Award Centre. 

Extol Trust is committed to providing arts education and Mrs Merrie works across the trust as an Arts Award adviser to ensure our young people push themselves, engage with the arts and have the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award. 

Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England.
