Due to our ongoing participation in a wide variety of sporting events, festivals and competitions, we are delighted to hold the Sports Mark Platinum award.

Our children receive a huge variety of sporting opportunities and events, both in and out of school, through the ongoing link with Farringdon SLA.

At New Silksworth Academy we are committed to providing sporting opportunities for all of our pupils. We participate in the schools’ games programme with support from Farringdon Community Academy. At least once a year, all of the pupils in each year group will participate in a sporting competition or festival. After participating at a cluster level, winning teams then go on to represent Sunderland within the school games system.

This year our Y6 hockey, Y5 athletics and Y4 tennis team have all made it through to regional finals.
