SPRING TWO TOPIC
Paws, Claws and Whiskers
This half term we are learning all about animals! From our trip to Northumberland County Zoo, to poems, fact files and stories in English, and to Science where we are studying animal groups and classifications.
We have been reading –
Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae
Mad about Mini Beasts by Giles Andreae
A Mummy for Owen by Marion Dane Bauer
In English, we are creating letters from a character’s perspective, writing fact files about jungle animals and a poem about mini beasts!
In Mathswe are studying fractions, learning ½ and ¼ of shapes and numbers! We are also looking at measurement, measuring height and length whilst discussing what is tallest and shortest.
In Sciencewe are continuing our learning from last half term, all about animals and humans. We are understanding what animal groups different animals come from, as well as what they eat, and which may be best for a pet!
